Do I need to update my Axiom product for MicroStation if I update MicroStation?

Do you need an updated version of your Axiom product after you've updated MicroStation?

Sometimes yes. Sometimes no.

When we release an Axiom product, it is designed to work with the latest version of MicroStation and all previous versions within the same major product family. For example, as of this writing, Microsoft Office Importer for the CONNECT family works with MicroStation CONNECT 10.xx through MicroStation 2026.

So, if you're running MicroStation 2024 and upgrade to MicroStation 2025, whether you need to update Microsoft Office Importer depends entirely on how old your Axiom software is. The current release is already compatible with both versions of MicroStation, but you may not be running the current release.

Tip: The easiest way to determine the latest version of MicroStation your Axiom product installer is compatible with is the name of the installer itself.
Example; office2026setup-10.2a.exe, will work with MicroStation 2026 and prior CONNECT versions.

If my Axiom product is already up to date, do I still need to reinstall it?

Yes.

When you install a new version of MicroStation, your existing Axiom installation does not automatically detect or integrate with it. After installing the new version of MicroStation, you must rerun the Axiom installer and select the new MicroStation version during the installation process.

Simply put:

·         You may not need a newer version of your Axiom software.

·         You will still need to reinstall it, so it integrates with the newly installed version of MicroStation.
